The 2026 edition of Italy's longest-running and most eagerly awaited beer competition is back: the 21st edition of the Beer of the Year Award, a competition organised by Unionbirrai, which rewards the best craft beers and crowns the best Italian craft brewery of the year.
Expert tasters, from abroad and all over Italy, will gather around tables for blind tastings that will decide the podiums of the 2026 edition of the competition among the craft beers entered in the 45 different categories.
Three will be the winning beers in each category.

BEER OF THE YEAR 2025: THE WINNER
The independent craft brewery 50&50 from Varese won the title of best Italian producer.
This success was achieved in an exciting competition that saw the participation of 257 breweries from all over Italy with a total of 2,092 competing beers. 50&50 stood out among the 45 award categories, winning three gold medals in the specialities Session APA/IPA, New England IPA and White Italian Grape Ale, as well as a bronze.
